There was excellent visibility in the starry night. A point-shaped flying object could not escape our attention as it flew straight across the horizon. It flashed incessantly in front of us at short intervals. At first I thought it was an aeroplane, but Mr Schutzbach, as a private pilot, knew better. He said that the frequency of the flashing light seemed very unusual to him. Mr Meier thought it would be possible to determine whether the object was an ~~aircraft~~ or something else.
