	\| Seit der Neugründung der olympischen Spiele im Jahre 1896, durch den französischen Baron Pierre de Coubertin nämlich, waren diese der wahrlichen Gesinnung fremd, denn stets stellten sie nur die Weiterführung der Politik mit anderen Mitteln dar, als eben mit militärischen Kräften, Krieg, Spionage, Attentaten, Meuchelmord, Mord und Totschlag. Seit dem Beginn des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts eignet sich der Sport vorzüglich als Druckmittel und Spiel ball der Politik, der Religionen, der Finanz- und übrigen Wirtschaftsmächte, und schlussendlich auch privater zwielichtiger Kräfte. Greece suddenly believed itself to be the centre of the Earth again, just as in the old incomprehensible and loud-mouthed times. And, how could it also have been otherwise; the Greeks broke out a war against the Turks over the ancient Minoan island of Crete, which the ancient Hellenes had appropriated around ~~3500~~ years ago when the volcanic island of Santorini exploded in the Aegean Sea, forcing the Minoans resp. Cretans to flee to the Hellenic mainland. 	\| Bereits der erste Austragungsort der wiedererweckten olympischen Spiele im Jahre 1896, nämlich die Hauptstadt Griechenlands, Athen, war ein Politikum von kriegsauslösender Tragweite. Griechenland wähnte sich, plötzlich wieder, wie zu alten unverständigen und grossmäuligen Zeiten, als Mittelpunkt der Erde. Und, wie hätte es auch anders sein können; die Griechen brachen einen Krieg vom Zaune gegen die Türken, um die alte Minoanerinsel Kreta, die sich die alten Hellenen vor rund 3500 Jahren aneigneten, als die Vulkaninsel Santorin im ägäischen Meer explodierte, und die Minoaner resp. Kreter damals zwang,auf das hellenische Festland zu flüchten.
