The beamship glows externally in radiating brilliance, and lights up the pitch black darkness in a broad circumference. Not much is said thereby, because I devote my entire attention to everything I can see during one full hour in the deep sea. Thereafter, this also applies for the deep sea dive in the Pacific, which, however, only lasts 25 minutes. In regard to the living things, there is not exactly much to see in the deepest depths, because creatures appear only in isolation, in small form, whereby, for me, however, they are exotic, as are also those in the higher areas of the water. Many of these living things are self-luminous, in greenish or whitish light. I can only observe bigger life-forms extremely sporadically, each and every one of which is of a strange form – those seen by me, at any rate. Still more seldom, gigantic animals emerge out of the darkness of the deep sea, as, for example, whitish and reddish as well as brownish giant squid and dark grey or black snake-shaped creatures, which I estimate to be 15 to 20 metres long and four to five metres in diameter. Also, in three different locations, three single gigantic forms of life emerge, which I initially designate as deep sea whales, however Quetzal will instruct me that it deals with so-called Sleeping Sharks, the existence of which is not yet known to terrestrial humans. The smallest of the three I estimate to be some 10 metres long, while the two others are some two to three metres longer. But there are, among many other very interesting things, also the 'black things/ chimneys' [a.k.a. 'black smokers'], of which Quetzal had once spoken, and he said that they are the essential origin of the later forms of life on the Earth, in water, air and land, along with inclusions from outer space through comets, meteors and asteroids. In these 'black things/chimneys' from which pitch black swathes – which are impregnated with sulphur and various materials – rise up, emerged early branches of bacteria which, as they rose out of the chimneys, were released and began the evolutionary work of life. But that, says Quetzal, is all still unknown to the terrestrial scientists. What is still interesting with this observation of the 'black things/chimneys' is the fact that in their nearer and further surroundings, swarms of enormous numbers of large and snow-white creatures, which I simply designate as giant or oversized scampi [a.k.a. shrimp/prawns], bustle about on the sulphurous rocks or on the other steep rocks. Leaving the deep sea and after a few minutes back again in my office, it is precisely 3:17 hrs as I look at the clock.)

Dann sausen wir in den freien Welten raum hinaus, wo wir rund 50 Minuten verbringen, wobei ich mich immer besser und freier fühle und ich mich auch meiner Bedrücktheit entledigen kann. Geredet wird dabei praktisch nichts, denn ich bin mit meinen Gedanken beschäftigt, die Quetzal ganz offenbar nicht unterbrechen will. Dann fliegt Quetzal sein Strahlschiff zur Erde zurück und über den Atlantik, um dann in die Tiefe des Meeres abzusinken. Dann schweben wir über dem schwammigen Grund und Quetzal bewegt das Strahlschiff, das ja jetzt zum Tauchschiff geworden ist, langsam dahin. Aussen leuchtet das Strahlschiff in strahlendem Glanz und erhellt die pechschwarze Finsternis in einem weiten Umkreis. Gesprochen wird dabei nicht viel, denn ich widme meine ganze Aufmerksamkeit allem, was ich während einer vollen Stunde in der Tiefsee sehen kann. Dies gilt danach auch für den Tiefseetauchgang im Pazifik, der jedoch nur 25 Minuten dauert. Zu sehen in bezug auf lebewesen ist nicht gerade viel in den tiefsten Tiefen, denn Getier tritt nur vereinzelt in kleinen Formen in Erscheinung, wobei sie jedoch für mich fremdartig sind wie auch jene in höheren Wassergebieten. Viele dieser lebensformen leuchten aus sich selbst heraus in grünlichem oder weisslichem Licht. Nur äusserst vereinzelt kann ich grössere lebewesen beobachten, die allesamt von seltsamer Art sind, jedenfalls für mich gesehen. Noch seltener tauchen aus der Finsternis der Tiefsee gigantisch grosse Tiere auf, wie z.B. weissliche und rötliche sowie bräunliche Riesenkraken und dunkelgraue oder schwarze schlangenförmige Wesen, die ich an die 15 bis 20 Meter länge und an die vier bis fünf Meter Durchmesser schätze. Auch tauchen an drei verschiedenen Orten drei einzelne gigantische lebensformen auf, die ich erst als Tiefsee-Walfische bezeichne, jedoch von Quetzal belehrt werde, dass es sich um sogenannte Schlaf-Haie handle, von deren Existenz die irdischen Menschen noch nichts wüssten. Den kleinsten der drei schätze ich auf etwa 10 Meter Grösse, während die beiden anderen etwa zwei bis drei Meter grösser sind. Da sind aber nebst vielen anderen sehr interessanten Dingen auch die ‹schwarzen›, von denen Quetzal einmal gesprochen hat und von denen er sagte, dass sie der eigentliche Ursprung der späteren lebensformen auf der Erde, zu Wasser, luft und land seien, eben nebst Einschlüssen aus dem Weltenraum durch Kometen, Meteore und Asteroiden. In diesen ‹schwarzen›, aus denen pechschwarze Schwaden hochsteigen, die mit Schwefel und sonstigen Stoffen geschwängert sind, entstanden frühe Bakterienstämme, die aus den Kaminen hochsteigend freigesetzt wurden und das Evolutionswerk des lebens begannen. Das aber, sagt Quetzal, sei alles den irdischen Wissenschaftlern noch unbekannt. Was bei dieser Beobachtung der ‹schwarzen› noch interessant ist, ist die Tatsache, dass sich in der näheren und weiteren Umgebung derselben schwarmweise Unmengen grosse und schneeweisse Viecher an den Schwefelfelsen oder am sonstigen steilen Gestein tummeln, die ich einfach als riesige oder übergrosse Scampi bezeichne. Die Tiefsee verlassend und nach wenigen Minuten wieder in meinem Büro zurück, da ist es genau 3.17 h, als ich auf die Uhr schaue.)
