There were confused Swiss people behind this initiative, which fortunately was discarded and therefore rejected. If the absurdity of the initiative had been accepted, then the freedom of male and female Swiss citizens would have been severely curtailed in this respect, and this is only because our initiators are not able to think so far ahead that such a ban on firearms would not solve the problem of the approximately 300 annual suicides with gunshots. On the one hand, it is the case that when suicidal people want to kill themselves, they use every opportunity and every means at their disposal to do so. If they do not have firearms, they simply jump to their death from high bridges or skyscrapers, let themselves be transported to the afterlife by cars or trains, drown themselves, take poison, cut their pulse or carotid arteries, suffocate themselves with plastic bags, kill themselves by electricity or stabbing or hanging themselves,and so forth. However, these confused anti-gun activists do not think of this and live in the delusion that a ban on firearms would solve the problem, which it does not, in fact, in anywise do. Furthermore, it is exactly these confused ones that want to prevent suicides through their initiative, that advocate and even support suicide organisations such as 'Dignitas' and 'Exit', which can legally send many suicidal people to their deaths every year. Although it is said that the suicide victims administer and ingest the deadly poison themselves, it is irresponsibly handed to them by the suicide helpers, which is tantamount to murder and should not go unpunished. Wirre Schweizerinnen und Schweizer steckten hinter dieser Initiative, die glücklicherweise verworfen und also abgelehnt wurde. Wäre die Unsinnigkeit der Initiative angenommen worden, dann wäre in dieser Beziehung die Freiheit der weiblichen und männlichen Schweizerbürger arg beschnitten worden, und das nur darum, weil wirre Initianten nicht derart weit zu denken vermögen, dass durch ein solches Schusswaffenverbot das Problem in bezug auf die rund 300 jährlichen Selbstmorde mit Schiessprügeln nicht gelöst wird.
