I agree in the utmost with the excerpts above and would like to share a further understanding.
If I am approached with a situation as such: Let’s say you were in Germany in the 1940s hiding a Jewish family in your house. When the Gestapo comes calling, do you tell them the truth?
The answer should be, "No". Unless the situation was as such, that you could provide greater protection to the Truth by answering "Yes". If the purpose of life is consciousnesses related evolution then all thought process should stem from a respect of this.
